Worth to Know
Please note that the large shift of the ALPA 12 SWA, the MAX and the XY cannot always be fully used. In detail this depends on the format or sensor size used, the angle of view, the image circle and the focal length of the lens, etc. Standard configuration: mechanical Copal shutters. Configurations with Schneider or Rollei electronic shutters: please ask.
Digital / analog
The shorter the focal length, the more likely that at least a special adjustment is needed - more for lenses of symmetric than of retrofocus construction. There is no invariably correct attribution of a lens to digital or analog use.
Center filters
Here, too, there is no invariably correct rule without exception. The photographers taste, the degree of shift, the format, the film used (slide film is more sensitive than negative film), the subject taken - all play a part. If a center filter is employed its exposure correction factor must be taken into account.
Recommended aperture range
These values follow our own experience and do not necessarily match the recommendations given by the lens manufacturers.
Lens categories
Exclusive ALPA lenses are high-end lenses and suitable for most digital tasks. BTO lenses (built to order) are available on request. With some longer focal length the "short barrel" version is the standard.
